New year’s day. The beginning of something new. And this was definitely the beginning of something new as it was the day that Allie and Owen got married amongst their closet friends and family in a really intimate and very emotional wedding ceremony in Faithlegg House in Waterford. I’d never met Allie and Owen until this day but two more easy going people you’d be hard pressed to find. They were amazing to be around and so welcoming. I feel like I spent just as much time talking during those first few hours of preparation shots as I did taking the photographs. Both Allie and Owen’s side of family love a chat! Highlights of this day are many, like Allie watching a slideshow that her friend had put together on facebook, opening her letter and present from Owen and the emotion taking over, Facetiming her friends back in the states who couldn’t make it to Ireland, brushing off any critique about her skull socks and wearing them like a total rockstar under her awesome cowboy boot! watching Allie’s delight as the morning grey skies vanished and left us with beautiful sunlight, those vows, how brilliant Allie and Owen were in the cold as we captured the very last ounce of light as it disappeared for the day and the amazing dancing that took place before dinner – these folk knew how to party!
Allie and Owen thank you so, so much for having me there – it was amazing to be part of your day at Faithlegg that was so closely knit and private.
