Dee and I are utterly in love with this place. It’s Ballyvolane House in County Cork. Hidden away and slightly off the beaten track the house sits beautifully within it’s own grounds. No matter what time of year your visit it’s going to look breathtaking as nature is constantly changing and the summer’s gorgeous greens give way rich oranges and reds as the trees start to loose their leaves and winter sets in. We have a very special reason to be in love with this place as it’s where we’re choosing to get married and our recent visit was to take on the impossible challenge of narrowing down the menu for the big day. How we were spoilt! Dish after dish was presented and Dee and I would look at each other with delight, (this is AMAZING!) fear, (How are we going to eat all of this!) and excitement! (This is going to be delicious!!). Yes it was amazing, we did eat it all (or close enough) and it was utterly delicious!
Before all of that though we took our time to re-familarise ourselves with the building and it’s grounds. So we went for a little walk but we had company in the way of the house dogs which I was seriously tempted to take home. Gorgeous wee things! So, here is a little taster of our trip and I cannot tell you enough – if you have never been you simply must visit. You will love everything about it. Big thanks to Jenny and Justin and Eve for the great welcome and looking after us so well as always.
Oh – One more thing! Ballyvolane House will be holding a Christmas Bazaar on the 7th and 8th of December so there really will be no better time to pop in and try out some amazing food in what I’m sure is going to be a very cosy Christmas setting. Click here for details!
