Julie and Stephen. Cloughjordan House.

From the moment I first stepped into Cloughjordan House back in 2014 to photograph a wedding I knew this place was special. I always got on great with the owners, Sarah and Peter. This isn’t just a venue to them, this is their beautiful home. Over the years, I've had the privilege of capturing so many couples' happiest moments here, but Julie and Stephen's wedding was a true full-circle moment for me.

Julie, has been a familiar face throughout these years - after all, as Sarah and Peter’s daughter, Cloughjordan is her home too and as I’ve seen her a lot over the years on my trips there. She always told me, perhaps half-joking, that when her day came, I'd be the one to photograph it. God love her, she probably felt she had to stay true to her word and to my delight, that day arrived last November. It was surreal to be there, not just as a photographer, but as a witness to a story I've been part of in the smallest of ways over the years.

The day kicked off with a beautiful early morning woodland walk. Peter’s delivery at the end of cookies and coffee in the Landfover was a perfect reward. The warmth of this simple act mirrored the day's spirit. Later, during breakfast in the Asado, a surprise Good Luck message played over the radio and added a real buzz, marking the day’s start with laughter and pure joy.

One of the most unforgettable moments was Peter's reaction to seeing Julie in her wedding dress for the first time. His reaction was a profoundly memorable moment, one that will linger in the minds of everyone present for a long time. His sheer astonishment, a mix of joy and disbelief, caught all of us off guard - none more so than Peter himself. It's a powerful thing, seeing your little girl on her wedding day; it has a way of stirring emotions deep within, reminding us of the enduring strength a dad and his daughter.

The emotional procession to the barn, with staff lining up to offer their well-wishes, was a testament to the community's love and support for Julie and Stephen.

The day's festivities included tastings of fine whiskeys for Stephen and the groomsmen, hinting at the evening's Gin and Whiskey bar setup in the family kitchen. With the addition of an Oyster bar, the celebration brought together elements of sophistication and heartfelt joy.

As night descended, the marquee came alive with candlelit tables and exquisite details. The New Brass Kings kicked off the evenings music with a roaring set before the The Sing Along Social started a conga line that worked it’s way around the marquee to the dance floor which everyone was well and truly ready for. Peter stole the spotlight with dance moves that will be talked about for years to come. I always knew you had it in you Peter! Unreal! :)

Capturing these moments was beyond an honour for me and will remain as one of the most amazing and wonderful weddings I’ve had the pleasure to be part of.
