Elisa and Michael at Cloughjordan House
Okay, okay. I’ll admit it. I have a bit of a love affair with Cloughjordan House. And not only the house, the folks who run the place (who without fail, welcome me with a “Dave! Coffee?!” They know me so well) and the folks who get married there. I don’t know exactly what it is but sometimes you’ll find that there is a certain type of person, who books a certain type of venue and for that, they want to have a certain type of photographer to give them a certain type of photography (In fact, I’m certain of it). When those things all match up, it’s just perfect. I’ve had that EVERY SINGLE TIME when I’ve shot in Cloughjordan House and it’s lucky that’s the case, as this year I’ve shot there a lot – and trust me, I want to go back for more.
This couple was no different. Elisa and Michael. Two absolute superstars couldn’t have been more of a dream to photograph if I was sleeping. With smiles from ear to ear literally all day you could see just what this day meant to them. So many of their friends and family had made huge trips to come to Ireland for this day and there was the most amazing party atmosphere to the day. I loved it. I wish I had been a guest!
Still, it’s a pretty amazing job when you realise what privileged positions you end up in sometimes. Being feet away as the Elisa reads a letter from her future husband. Being literally inches away as Michael reads and becomes so overwhelmed that he’s brought to tears, by a book that Elisa made for them based on their story together – so far. Fleeting moments but moments worth capturing nonetheless.
Elisa and Michael, thank you so much for allowing me to come in and capture a whole bunch of fleeting moments that will hopefully help turn them all into lifelong memories. It was such an honour.
