Weddings – a bit like buses. You don’t shoot in Dublin City Hall ever before then two come along at once. This is the wedding of Lynne and Andy and I couldn’t have been happier to shoot their wedding. Two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet Lynne and Andy were a pure pleasure to be around. Cool and laid back doesn’t even begin to describe them – I remember at one point in the morning, one of the girls had mentioned to Lynne something about the wedding and Lynne replied with “Yeah we must do that tomorrow – oh wait… it’s today! I’m getting married today!”. Now that’s relaxed! The Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire was the location to get ready and later we’d be returning to just a few doors away to the gorgeous little Oliveto Restaurant for the reception. But first it was onto Dublin City Hall for a gorgeous ceremony – if only all weddings could be held here – it’s utterly beautiful and the light is fantastic – the only thing they need is a permanent place for my car so that I don’t have to keep jumping in with the bridal party – but hey, that’s more fun!
Later at Oliveto’s there was a garden party feel as everyone mingled outside enjoying the drinks and gorgeous canapés (I still reminisce about those eggs). I took the bridal party to the harbour for photos and honestly I could have shot down there all day – it was great to have so many options and Lynne and Andy really had so much patience as I clambered around rocks and jumped over railings to get the shots I wanted.
I’ll leave you to enjoy the photos as this is quite a big one but a massive thank you to Lynne and Andy for having me and also a thank you to the Oliveto restaurant for looking after me so well and serving me up that utterly ridiculously huge platter of which I left nothing! Delicious! I’ll be back – and I’ll be bringing tupperware!
