Clare and william at gloster house

It had been a few months since I last saw Clare and William - I photographed their friend’s wedding a few months before and had an absolute blast with them. Seeing them again felt immediately familiar, like catching up with old friends. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel incredibly welcome and I was able settle into their day so comfortably.

Gloster House is the kind of place that quietly takes your breath away, especially on a crisp winter's day. Inside, the warmth wrapped around everyone, contrasting perfectly with the cool, wintry chill outside. Storm Daragh was teasing at the edges, making my journey back home to Kilkenny that night a bit of a white-knuckle ride — let’s just say it just added a touch more drama to an already memorable day.

The ceremony took place in the beautiful White Room, officiated by Clare’s aunt, Deirdre Ní Chinnéide, adding a deeply personal and touching dimension to the occasion. The Maynooth University Chamber Choir filled the space with powerful music that seemed to lift everyone a few inches off the ground. Another choir sang an incredible a cappella piece, weaving their voices through the crowd, creating a moment that seemed to pause time. And then there was Clare’s brother, the one and only Dermot Kennedy, whose voice filled every corner of the room with raw emotion. It was one of those moments I’ll remember vividly for years.

After the ceremony, we kept the portraits brief and easygoing, stepping into the chilly courtyard behind Gloster House. Clare and William were total naturals, laughing off the cold and genuinely enjoying the moment. Familiar faces added warmth throughout the day, and the entire vibe felt relaxed, genuine, and joyful.

When I was finally ready to face the windy drive home, the dance floor was alive with laughter, celebration, and the kind of dancing you can only do surrounded by people you truly love.

Clare and William, thank you for inviting me to share in your day. It was an absolute joy to witness and capture the love and warmth that surrounded you both.
